Balam sang with Warface in Canada

Desk Report:

After eight years of existence, Balam left the Warphase band in 2007. He focused on his solo career. Warphase will complete 40 years in 2024. The band is currently in Canada on a musical tour to mark its four-decade anniversary. There, Balam, the band’s former vocalist and guitarist, was seen on the same stage with Warphase.

On the occasion of its four-decade anniversary, Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu, the head of Warphase, said that in addition to concerts in various places in the country throughout the year, they have plans to hold concerts in several countries including the United States, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, and India. He also mentioned the possibility of old members joining those concerts. Warphase went on a tour of Canada in September as planned. Warphase performed in Toronto on September 26. Old member Balam sang with the band there.

Balam shared several pictures of the concert on social media. He wrote in the caption, ‘I am very honored and happy to be a part of Warphase’s four-decade anniversary concert in Toronto. Greetings to the audience who came to the concert. I would also like to thank those who organized this concert and made it possible.’

Regarding performing with Warphase after a long time, Balam said, ‘I have had the opportunity to perform solo many times in Canada before. But this event is very special to me. Because here is a participation with Warphase. I have been with Warphase for a long time. After so many years, I am performing with Warphase on the same stage again. All in all, it is a great feeling.’

Balam’s journey with Warphase began in 1999. After that, he spent 8 years with the group. The album ‘Alo’ released in 2000 had three songs sung by Balam—‘Jat Dore’, ‘Samoy’ and ‘Nei Tumi’. Then, all the songs on the album ‘Maharaj’ released in 2003 were sung by Balam. The songs ‘Maharaj’, ‘Hariye Tome’, ‘Cyclone’, and ‘Basant’ from this album gave Balam a different identity.

Balam had a relationship with Warphase even before they officially joined. Balam is a relative of Warphase band founder member Babna Karim. Thanks to him, he used to go to the band’s practice since childhood. Babna also participated in Warphase’s Toronto concert. He said, “Events are often held in Toronto. Whenever I get a chance, I perform with the band. But this time’s concert is special. Warphase completed four decades. It was a real pleasure to perform on the same stage with the band in that concert.”
